Demonstrators are injured by Israeli live gunfire, rubber bullets, and tear gas, as fierce clashes break out between Palestinian protesters and Israeli soldiers in the Malaka area east of Gaza City, close to the border with Israel during this Friday 47th Great March of Return. Thousands of demonstrators had gathered at several points along the border barrier and according to Gaza Health Ministry 20 Gazans were wounded on this Friday border demonstration by Israeli live and rubber ammunitions and dozens suffered from tear gas inhalation, while Israeli police said one officer was hurt by an explosive device. Palestinians in Gaza have for nearly a year gathered at least weekly along the border demanding an end to an Israeli and Egyptian blockade on the Gaza strip as well as maintaining the Palestinian refugees’ right to return to lands they fled or were driven from upon Israel’s founding. Since the protests started more than 250 demonstrators have been killed by Israeli fire and around 26,000 have been wounded (Credit Image: © Ahmad Hasaballah/IMAGESLIVE via ZUMA Wire)
