The Samaritans, an ethnoreligious group of the Levant originating from the Israelites, or Hebrews, of the ancient near east, claim descent from the tribe of Ephraim and tribe of Manasseh (two sons of Joseph). According to the Torah, the Passover Sacrifice was first offered on the night of the Israelites' Exodus from Egypt.
