According to the Gaza health ministry a Palestinian paramedic providing medical assistance at the demo was shot dead by the Israeli army while several dozens of demonstrators were injured by Israeli fire and teargas during today’s clashes. Some of the protesters burnt tyres and hurled rocks at the Israeli soldiers. Israeli official sources argues that some incendiary kites were launches into Israel causing fires. The demonstration took place following a truce after an escalation in hostilities between Israel and Gaza beginning on Wednesday and leading to Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling on the Palestinian enclave, as well as rocket fire from Gaza into southern Israel. The hostilities were halted as Israel and Hamas reached a cease-fire late Thursday (Credit Image: © Ahmad Hasaballah/IMAGESLIVE via ZUMA Wire)
