According to Gaza health ministry 77 Palestinians were wounded in the confrontations that broke out between the Israeli military and Palestinian protesters as thousands of Palestinians demonstrated this Friday in different sites along the Gaza-Israel border fence. Demonstrators burnt tires and hurled rocks, although according to the Israeli Security Forces molotov cocktails and grenades were also thrown at the security fence, while most of the protesters kept their distance from the fence. The Great March of Return protests have been taking place every weekend for over six months and since its inception in March more than 200 Palestinian demonstrators have been killed, including three paramedics, and more than 22,000 wounded, with dozens of wounds leading to limb amputation. Protesters have demanded the lift of the Israeli blockade on Gaza, which has devastated the economy of the Strip and caused a humanitarian crisis, as well as upholding of the right of Palestinian refugees to return to the homes they were displaced from in historical Palestine during the 1948 War and the creation of Israel (Credit Image: © Ahmad Hasaballah/IMAGESLIVE via ZUMA Wire)
