The women in Sudan have realized that a new era has begun, and they finally have the opportunity to reclaim space and recognition so often postponed by tradition, religion and machismo. At the sit-in against military rule taking place since more than one moth ago outside the Army Headquarters, Sudanese women, from all walks of life and various ages, are visible: debating, performing, participating in the logistics running the huge revolutionary space and making sure their voices are heard in every corner of the gathering and beyond.
