Hundreds of Kenyan women called on government and law enforcement officials to tacke gender-based violence against women in Kenya as they held a vigil for the victims. Killings of women and gender-based violence has been on the rise in recent months. Some 50 women have been murdered between January and April 2019, a Kenyan newspaper reported quoting a Kenyan lawyer.
