The zoo's most famous and longest-living hippopotamus in Asia along with other thousands animals will be temporary move to another six provincial zoos around Thailand after 30 September 2018, to keep them before relocating to its new house in Pathum Thani province on the outskirts of Bangkok. The Bangkok's landmark 80-years-old Dusit Zoo will close its gate at the end of September 2018. Dusit Zoo is Thailand's first public zoo opened 80 years ago on 18 March 1938 located on a land under royal property.
