The Annapurna Marathon which starts from Annapurna base camp (4130 meters altitude) to Ghandruk village (2012 meters altitude) is the Nepal's second highest altitude marathon. The Annapurna marathon marked the anniversary of the first summit of Mount Annapurna by a French expedition led by mountaineer Maruice Herzog on 03 June 1950. Khagendra Bhatt won the race competing the 42.195 kilometer distance in 4 hours, 6 minutes and 13 seconds.
